Tom Trese in Pittsburgh seeks a Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements for diverse clients. You will deliver proactive planning, compliance, and advisory services, focusing on flow-through entities & corporate, partnership, and individual returns.

The role requires 8+ years in public accounting, a CPA or law degree, strong communication, and staff development skills, plus ability to win new business and manage deadlines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years public accounting experience with a strong tax concentration across corporate, partnership, individual, trusts, and estate planning.
• Experience in Manufacturing, Auto Dealership, or Construction industries preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of various accounting software.
• Excellent time management and ability to work with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive individual and business tax planning, consulting, and compliance services.
• Specialize in individual and business tax returns, with focus on flow-through entities.
• Ensure client and team satisfaction through open communication and meeting deadlines.
• Collaborate with Partners, Directors, Senior Managers and staff on client management and business development.
• Supervise and lead staff to manage engagements and deadlines.
• Develop skills to attract new clients and expand business with existing clients.
• Stay current with legislative and professional changes and advise clients accordingly.
• Represent the firm in the business community and participate in networking events.
• Demonstrate commitment to the Firm's Culture, Values and Client Service Principles.

Qualifications

• 8+ years previous public accounting experience with a strong concentration in tax including corporate, partnership, individual, trusts and estate planning, and resolving complex tax issues.
• Manufacturing, Auto Dealership, Construction industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Working knowledge of various accounting software
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively with all the internal team and clients.
• CPA or law degree is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interact closely with clients and firm team members to provide innovative and proactive individual and business tax planning, consulting, and compliance services in a timely and effective manner.
• Specialization and experience in both individual and business tax returns, with concentration in flow through entities.
• Ensure complete client and team satisfaction through open communication, managing deadlines and proactively sharing tax savings strategies.
• Work closely with Partners, Directors, Senior Managers and staff on client management, professional development, and business development activities.
• Supervise and lead associate and senior associate team members to manage responsibilities and deadlines on client engagements.
• Develop skills to attract new clients and market the company's services and products and facilitate expansion of business with existing clients.
• Keep abreast of any legislative or professional changes, and consult with clients on potential implications.
• Participate in client development through networking events and professionally represent the firm in the business community.

• Demonstrate a level of communication skills, intuitive skills and resourcefulness that encourages others to follow and develop the same skills.
