Job summary

Abacus Group is seeking a Tax Manager, Private Client Services for their Hollywood, FL office. The role focuses on advising clients on tax planning, reviewing complex returns, and mentoring staff to deliver timely, high-quality work.

The candidate will lead multiple engagements and coordinate with external professionals to meet client objectives. The successful candidate will have 7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, strong technical skills, and proficiency with tax

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive tax experience.
• Public accounting experience required.
• Strong technical expertise with review of individual, partnership, trust and gift tax returns.
• Proven leadership with ability to mentor staff and manage priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication with executive presence.
• Performing, documenting and summarizing tax research conclusions.
• Knowledge of CCH Axcess preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and tax research platforms (CCH, BNA, RIA).

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on tax planning strategies for individuals, trusts, estates and pass-through entities.
• Cultivate long-term client relationships by delivering responsive service and tax savings.
• Review federal, state and local returns including various entity types.
• Research technical tax issues and prepare guidance on structuring and planning.
• Supervise tax professionals, review workpapers and mentor staff.
• Lead multiple client engagements with timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with attorneys, wealth advisors and other professionals.
• Present tax planning recommendations and insights to support client goals.
