Job summary

Vector Recruiting LLC is seeking a Tax Manager for a well established, regionally based CPA firm in Torrance, CA. The role offers a favorable work-life balance, robust benefits including large bonus potential and a 5% employer contribution to the 401K, and a fast track to Partnership.

The Tax Manager will oversee the preparation of tax returns, perform technical reviews, supervise staff, and participate in planning with larger clients across diverse industries.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of experience in public accounting with increasing tax complexity.
• Minimum one year experience supervising and directing work of tax preparers.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s degree in taxation preferred.
• A current and valid CPA license is required.

Responsibilities

• The Manager is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of all clients’ tax returns and decisions on most tax situations.
• Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity.
• Assumes full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegates to the various tax preparers as deemed necessary.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills necessary for advising clients.
• Performs tasks related to client service and ensures assignments meet budgeted time.
• Participates in client meetings and tax planning to assist the Auditing and Accounting Department with larger clients.
• Acts as a resource for tax preparers/specialists and staff on tax issues.
• Assumes tax preparation responsibility for more complex business returns.
• Communicates important tax developments to firm personnel.
