Job summary

Doeren Mayhew CPAs and Advisors seeks a Tax Manager to join our Punta Gorda and Miami, FL offices. The role leads tax compliance and planning engagements, delivering high-quality client service through technical accuracy, cost effectiveness, and timeliness.

Responsibilities span planning through completion, reviewing returns, supervising staff, and developing business opportunities while maintaining exceptional client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA license required.
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in domestic tax.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to train, coach, and mentor others.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, but also in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple projects/clients and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review private company C-Corp, S-Corp, partnership, individual federal and state tax returns.
• Lead engagements from planning through completion; plan, execute and complete tax compliance, planning, and provision projects on time and within budget.
• Review estimated tax payments and extensions.
• Research and review tax issues.
• Proactively anticipate and solve client issues and add value to projects.
• Coach and mentor staff helping them achieve career goals.
• Provide staff direct and meaningful feedback.
• Supervise team to meet client and partner expectations.
• Serve as the primary client contact with billing, realization, and collections.
• Develop and execute a practice development plan including networking, new client development and client expansion activities.
