Job summary

Doeren Mayhew CPAs and Advisors in Florida is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our Punta Gorda and Miami offices. You will lead tax return work for individuals and entities across industries and provide mentorship to junior staff.

The role emphasizes technical tax expertise, client relationship building, and collaboration across service lines. CPA preferred but not required; a path to advanced taxation studies is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• Willingness to pursue Master’s Degree in Taxation or Accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years’ domestic tax experience in public accounting.
• Strong leadership and training abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of tax returns for individuals, C-Corp, S-Corp, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
• Demonstrate advanced tax technical aptitude and handle complex returns.
• Use analytical skills to solve complex tax issues.
• Review work of junior staff and provide mentorship.
• Build strong client relationships and manage expectations.
• Maintain timely communication with team and clients.
• Train new employees on firm technology and procedures.
• Present ideas to improve tasks to meet firm goals.
• Seek opportunities to develop the practice and referrals.
