Strategic Employment Partners, Wakefield, MA, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join the leadership team in a hybrid role—3 days onsite at the Wakefield, MA office. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of public accounting experience, a CPA, and a passion for client relationships and technical work that matters.

Responsibilities include supervising tax engagements, planning and scheduling work, and maintaining direct client relationships while overseeing team members and ensuring quality

Qualifications

• 10+ years of public accounting experience.
• CPA certification required.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supervising tax engagements and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Supervise tax engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards.
• Plan and schedule tax engagements with clients and internal resources.
• Build and maintain direct client relationships.
• Perform detailed reviews of tax returns and workpapers.
• Conduct tax research projects.
• Communicate with clients and team members on project status, opportunities, and issues.
• Provide training, direction, and oversight to team members.
• Maintain technical expertise across relevant tax areas and industry specializations.
• Build new client relationships and manage an existing book of business, including budgets and production goals.
• Support consulting and special projects as requested by management and clients.
