Job summary

firstPRO, Inc. in Delaware is expanding its tax team and seeks an experienced Tax Manager to own individual and business tax engagements while serving as a trusted advisor to clients.

You will manage engagements from planning through completion, review work of staff, and help grow the firm’s tax practice by delivering proactive tax guidance and strong client relationships. Ideal candidates bring strong experience with federal and state taxes, excellent communication, and the CPA/EA/MST

Qualifications

• Strong experience preparing both individual and business tax returns.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
• Analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or Master of Science in Taxation (MST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual and business income tax returns
• Manage multiple tax engagements from planning through completion
• Research complex tax issues and provide practical recommendations to clients
• Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate them effectively
• Review work prepared by staff and senior-level tax professionals
• Serve as a point of contact for clients and develop long-term relationships
• Assist with tax projections, planning, and year-round advisory services
• Ensure returns and engagements comply with applicable federal and state tax regulations
• Stay current on changes to tax legislation and accounting standards
• Assist with mentoring, training, and developing members of the tax team
• Support other client and firm initiatives as needed
