Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Tax Manager to join our growing Accounting + Finance team in Westminster, MD. You will lead federal and state tax planning, compliance, and high-net-worth engagements, with a clear path toward partner.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax planning and compliance, with a focus on federal and state tax for high net worth individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Proven experience in managing multiple client engagements simultaneously, with a strong ability to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Strong knowledge of S Corp structures, tax returns, and tax review processes.
• Excellent leadership skills with an ability to motivate and lead a team.
• Exceptional client service skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to clearly explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate tax planning, preparation, and review of federal and state income taxes for high net worth individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients.
• Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and budget for assigned projects.
• Perform technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity.
• Serve as a key leader in our firm's Tax team, providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the team.
• Develop and deliver innovative tax planning strategies that save our clients’ money and help grow our businesses.
• Stay updated with industry trends and changes in tax laws to ensure company's compliance.
