We are working with a boutique, client-focused wealth management firm dedicated to providing high-touch, personalized financial planning and investment management services. Clients include high-net-worth individuals, families, and small business owners. As part of our client's growth, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join the team in a fully remote capacity.

Position Overview

As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to our clients. You will work closely with our financial advisors and clients to ensure tax strategies align with overall wealth management objectives. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for proactive client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, trust, and business tax returns (primarily 1040, 1041, 1120S, 1065).
• Provide tax planning and strategy for high-net-worth individuals and families, including charitable giving, estate planning, and retirement distribution planning.
• Collaborate with financial advisors to integrate tax strategies into broader financial plans.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for client tax matters, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Monitor tax law changes and communicate relevant updates to clients and internal teams.
• Manage relationships with external tax preparers or CPAs when applicable.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all IRS and state regulations.
• Support clients during IRS and state audits, as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of internal best practices.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation a plus.
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably in a wealth management, boutique CPA firm, or middle market CPA firm environment.
• Deep understanding of tax issues affecting high-net-worth individuals and small businesses.
• Experience with tax software (e.g., ProConnect, UltraTax, CCH, or similar) and strong Excel skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
