Job Summary

The future is bright for the Porch Group, and we’d love for you to be a part of it as our Senior Tax Manager.

The Senior Tax Manager is the company’s primary tax expert who oversees tax strategy, compliance, and planning. The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for working with external tax advisors to coordinate all tax-related activities and ensure that all matters related to taxes are handled promptly and accurately.

What You Will Do As A Senior Tax Manager

  • Partner and manage the relationship with external tax advisors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (federal, state, local, and international).
  • Works closely with Accounting and Finance to provide tax rates for review of business results and forecasts.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and documentation for tax positions.
  • Advises top management of the impact of new tax laws and proposed legislation.
  • Pursues refunds, credits and incentives as the company moves into new markets or new locations to maximize tax benefits to the company.
  • Review or prepare quarterly tax provisions and various tax computations prepared by external tax advisors.
  • Oversee preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Recognize complex technical tax issues, perform research and analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Develop federal and state tax planning ideas.

What Will You Bring As A Senior Tax Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Master’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience managing multiple areas of tax compliance and provisions is required.
  • 8+ years’ experience in accounting and tax.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal income tax and state and local tax compliance.
  • Previous experience preparing quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations and related disclosures for US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead initiatives that require definition, cooperation and conflict resolution with peers, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership.
  • Has experienced several cycles in role and is capable of applying the associated learnings from time in role.

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member

$132,000.00 - $184,800.00 annually

  • Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.

Additionally, you will be eligible to receive long-term incentive awards, subject to program guidelines and approvals.

You will also be eligible to receive an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, subject to program guidelines and approvals
