Job summary

System One is seeking an experienced Tax Manager in Tulsa, OK to oversee fuel and sales tax compliance, reporting, and audits. You will lead a team of 2–4 analysts and collaborate with operations to ensure accurate filings and tax guidance.

The role requires strong analytical skills, prior leadership experience, and a commitment to in-office work Monday–Friday at a fast-paced, compliant organization.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with sales tax and/or fuel tax compliance.
• Experience managing tax audits.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Prior leadership or team management experience preferred.
• Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Oversee motor fuel excise tax returns and sales tax returns.
• Lead tax rate updates for billing and respond to inquiries on tax rates/exemptions.
• Direct fuel and sales tax audits with states and the IRS.
• Review tax diligence reports for potential acquisitions.
• Manage 2–4 analysts and ensure timely tax filings.

Tax Manager

System One is partnering with a client seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee fuel and sales tax compliance, reporting, audits, and tax-related initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing tax filings, supporting business operations with tax guidance, and leading a team of tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Motor fuel excise tax returns
• Sales tax returns
• Tax rate updates for billing
• Responding timely to customer inquiries related to tax rates, exemptions, etc.
• Leading fuel and sales tax audits with states and the IRS
• Review of tax diligence reports for potential acquisitions
• Manages 2-4 analysts
• In office 5 days a week

Qualifications

• Strong experience with sales tax and/or fuel tax compliance.
• Experience managing tax audits
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Prior leadership or team management experience preferred.
• Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday.
