Base pay range

$130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

Soni is partnering with a growing public accounting firm to hire a Tax Manager to support continued expansion and upcoming tax seasons. This role focuses on preparing and reviewing tax returns, managing client relationships, and serving as a key point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate is technically strong, comfortable working directly with clients, and enjoys balancing hands‑on tax work with review and leadership responsibilities. Quality of work and client service are prioritized over sheer volume.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex individual (1040) tax returns
• Review work prepared by senior and staff accountants
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
• Manage client relationships and respond to tax‑related questions
• Assist with tax planning, projections, and extensions
• Coordinate deadlines and workflow across multiple engagements
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members
• Partner with firm leadership during tax season and growth initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 6+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing tax returns
• 1040 experience required
• Ability to manage client relationships independently
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable managing multiple deadlines during tax season

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license preferred
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals
• Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
• Exposure to complex or multi‑entity tax structures
