Responsible for preparing quarterly tax provisions, assisting in enterprise tax planning, and business partnering with key leadership across accounting - this is a great opportunity for ascendant talent seeking its first management role, or a seasoned professional open to a new challenge.

Role Summary

The Tax Manager will directly assist the Tax Director and broader Finance Team by overseeing the complete tax life-cycle, including initial preparation and primary review of quarterly/year-end income tax provisions for financial reporting. This role coordinates with external service providers to ensure timely submission of all income tax filings while supporting corporate acquisitions, special projects, and cross-functional inquiries.

Core Responsibilities

• Tax Provision Management: Lead preparation and initial review of tax provisions for financial statements, including fluctuation analysis for lender reporting.

• Strategic Planning: Conduct tax research and modeling for domestic/state initiatives, collaborating with advisors to align financial reporting with tax filings.

• Compliance & Controversy: Manage tax audits, jurisdictional inquiries, and FIN48/APB23 documentation.

• Process Optimization: Improve processes for tax provisioning, forecasting (effective tax rates), and data analysis.

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with FP&A to model tax implications of acquisitions and business initiatives, providing guidance to operational teams on tax-related decisions.

• Team Development: Mentor tax staff through coaching, training, and project oversight to foster growth and engagement (as applicable).

Qualifications

• Expertise: 5+ years in tax accounting, including GAAP reporting, provisioning, and federal/state compliance.

• Skills: Ability to navigate complex legal/tax structures within dynamic environments.

• Credentials: Bachelor's in Accounting/related field required; CPA preferred.

• Industry Preference: Insurance/warranty sector experience beneficial but not mandatory.
