Job summary

A publicly traded financial services company in Chicago seeks a Tax Manager to join the team. The role offers exposure to all areas of tax and a hybrid work model with strong bonus potential.

You will partner with the Director of Tax to oversee U.S. tax accounting, compliance, and reporting within a global investment organization, while driving process improvements and automation using AI, Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience overseeing U.S. tax accounting, compliance, and reporting functions.
• Expertise with ASC 740 tax provisions and uncertain tax positions.
• Experience in 10-Q/10-K disclosures and U.S. income tax compliance.
• Ability to support tax planning, incentives, entity changes, reorganizations and M&A due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Lead quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provisions and related analysis.
• Oversee U.S. tax accounting, compliance, and reporting functions.
• Support tax planning and strategic opportunities including entity changes and M&A.
• Drive modernization via automation, AI, and BI tools to improve efficiency.
• Mentor junior tax staff and collaborate with Finance leadership.

A publicly traded financial services company is looking for a tax manager to join the team. There is a ton of opportunity to get involved in all areas of tax.

This role includes the following:

• High-impact tax leadership role: Partner directly with the Director of Tax to help oversee U.S. tax accounting, compliance, and reporting functions within a highly respected global investment organization.
• Broad technical exposure: Lead quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision, uncertain tax position analysis, 10-Q/10-K disclosures, U.S. income tax compliance, and tax SOX controls—providing significant visibility across the Finance organization.
• Strategic tax opportunities: Go beyond compliance by supporting tax planning, incentives, legal entity changes, reorganizations, and M&A activities, including due diligence and purchase accounting considerations.
• Technology & process improvement focus: Play a key role in modernizing the tax function through automation, AI, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, and other technology solutions designed to improve efficiency and scalability.
