Overview
Totlani & Partners is assisting a client with their search for a U.S. Tax Reporting Manager to join their tax team. This role will report to the Director of Global Tax Reporting and will support income tax reporting and federal and state tax compliance obligations, including all aspects of external and internal financial reporting around income taxes. Responsibilities will include SEC and U.S. GAAP reporting, internal forecasting, and other ad-hoc reporting. This position offers exposure to a wide range of accounting, technical tax, and operational issues within a dynamic, growth-oriented business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions and ensure accuracy of the tax provision reported in U.S. GAAP financial statements and disclosures.
- Maintain accuracy of income tax accounts using tax provision software and workflow tools.
- Prepare global effective tax rate and cash tax forecasting for management reporting.
- Support U.S. tax compliance calculations and analyses (e.g., book-tax adjustments, tax basis balance sheets).
- Assist with federal and state tax audits, notices, and related correspondence.
- Design and enhance income tax provision processes with a focus on improvement and sustainability.
- Manage external tax advisors in the preparation of U.S. federal and state income tax returns.
- Research U.S. tax and U.S. GAAP technical issues, document findings, and apply conclusions to reporting calculations.
- Provide ad hoc support for special projects and initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in tax accounting and financial reporting at a large public accounting firm or multinational corporation. A mix of public accounting and in-house experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP tax accounting requirements, including SOX compliance.
- Strong understanding of corporate taxation and the end-to-end tax cycle.
- Proficiency with tax provision software (e.g., ONESOURCE Tax Provision) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience advising on complex tax accounting and technical issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within defined timelines.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with enterprise financial systems and multi-dimensional reporting tools (e.g., Oracle Fusion).
- Experience with data automation tools (e.g., Alteryx).
Candidates are required to be on-site in Northeastern PA twice a month
