Job summary

Boulay Financial Advisors, LLC in Eden Prairie, MN, seeks a Tax Department Intern to prepare individual and business income tax returns, conduct tax research, and support tax planning for a variety of clients across multiple industries.

Internships are paid, full-time from January to April in our Eden Prairie office, with onboarding and mentorship to help you develop professional skills and CPA-readiness. Housing and class arrangements are considered to fit your schedule.

Qualifications

• Working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and/or 150 credit hours.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA and a solid academic record.
• Completion of intermediate accounting course(s).
• Completion of some Tax and/or Audit course(s) by time of internship.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Exemplary communication and organizational skills.
• Strong desire to learn and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns (individual, partnership, multistate, corporate, and other).
• Assist with quarterly planning.
• Respond to inquiries from Federal and State taxing authorities.
• Tax research projects.
• Special projects as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting

150 credit hours

Job description

We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Tax Department. Our tax team proactively services individuals and businesses to help clients minimize taxes and maximize growth. With ongoing continuing education, you’ll stay current on tax legislation to identify strategic tax planning opportunities for clients.

As an Intern, you will prepare a variety of individual and business income tax returns, as well as perform relevant tax research. You will work with a variety of clients (within multiple industries) on their tax preparation and planning. You will be given the support you need to develop a breadth of skills and experiences that will enable you to achieve your goals. Internships are paid, full-time experiences which run January – April in our Eden Prairie, Minnesota office. We recruit well in advance of this time frame to allow you flexibility and time to make arrangements for housing and required classes.

The wage for this position is $28.00 per hour. This salary range reflects anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. Final compensation may vary depending on an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills. You will receive an in-depth onboarding and training and supportive Boulay Buddy to help you acclimate to your role.
