Job summary

Boulay is seeking a Tax Intern for our Eden Prairie, Minnesota office to support individuals and businesses with tax preparation and planning. You’ll prepare a variety of income tax returns and perform tax research, while receiving mentorship and in-house training to grow your skills.

The internship runs January–April, is paid, and includes exposure to a broad client base, with CPA prep support and a Boulay Buddy program to help you settle in.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and/or 150 credit hours.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA with strong academic record.
• Completion of intermediate accounting coursework.
• Some Tax and/or Audit coursework by internship start.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Desire to learn, develop professionally, and serve clients.
• Team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, multistate, and corporations.
• Assist with quarterly tax planning.
• Address inquiries from Federal and State tax authorities.
• Conduct tax research projects.
• Support special projects as assigned.

We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Tax Department. Our tax team proactively services individuals and businesses to help clients minimize taxes and maximize growth. With ongoing continuing education, you’ll stay current on tax legislation to identify strategic tax planning opportunities for clients.

As an Intern, you will prepare a variety of individual and business income tax returns, as well as perform relevant tax research. You will work with a variety of clients (within multiple industries) on their tax preparation and planning. You will be given the support you need to develop a breadth of skills and experiences that will enable you to achieve your goals. Internships are paid, full-time experiences which run January – April in our Eden Prairie, Minnesota office. We recruit well in advance of this time frame to allow you flexibility and time to make arrangements for housing and required classes.

The wage for this position is $28.00 per hour. This salary range reflects anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. Final compensation may vary depending on an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills. You will receive an in-depth onboarding and training and supportive Boulay Buddy to help you acclimate to your role.
