Job summary

Opsahl Dawson is offering a Tax Internship from January through April 2027 in Kentucky. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience with tax returns, client interactions, and real-world tax processing.

You will organize returns, utilize Autoflow for data extraction, and assist with 1040s and basic entity returns while supporting the team on 1099s and W-2s. Mentorship and growth opportunities accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize & Scan Returns: handle incoming tax returns and ensure proper processing.
• Autoflow Utilization: use Autoflow for data extraction and organization when processing returns.
• Level 1 Tax Returns: assist with preparing individual 1040s and simple entity returns.
• Supporting the Team: assist with 1099s and W-2s, observe real-world tax processing.
• Tax Return Assembly & Client Support: wrap up processes and assist clients with signatures and payments.
