Job summary

Opsahl Dawson is offering a Tax Intern position from January to April 2027. You’ll assist with preparing 1040s, learn about partnerships and corporate taxes, and gain hands-on experience working with a tax team.

Responsibilities include organizing and scanning returns, using Autoflow for data extraction, handling simple 1040s and 1099s/W-2s workflows, and supporting clients through signing and payments.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eager to learn and contribute in a professional environment.

What You’ll Do

• Organize & Scan Returns: Be the first to handle incoming tax returns, making sure they’re organized and accurately processed.
• Autoflow Utilization: Utilize Autoflow tool for data extraction and organization when processing tax returns.
• Level 1 Tax Returns: Jump right into preparing individual returns (1040s), and tackle simple entity returns!
• Supporting the Team: Help with 1099s and W-2s and get a sneak peek into real-world tax processing.
• Tax Return Assembly & Client Support: Wrap up the process and get involved with clients by explaining signatures and payment procedures.

Qualifications
