Job summary

Hawkins Ash CPAs in Neenah, Wisconsin, is seeking Spring 2028 Tax Interns to build hands-on tax experience while developing your technical skills in a collaborative firm. This intern role offers training, real client work, and exposure to associates through to partners.

You will prepare individual and business income tax returns, conduct tax research, and support the preparation of financial statements. Ideal candidates are accounting majors who have completed a taxation class, are pursuing CPA

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Has completed a corporate or individual taxation class.
• Actively earning credits to sit for the CPA exam.
• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on tax-related experience
• Attend the January Intern Training event to develop technical skills
• Receive on-the-job training and real-world client experience
• Work with staff—from Associates to Partners
• Prepare individual and business income tax returns
• Conduct tax research and convey findings to your supervisor
• Assist in preparing timely financial statements for decision-making
• Demonstrate work ethic and interest in joining Hawkins Ash CPAs full-time
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll do:

• Gain hands-on tax-related experience
• Participate in the January Intern Training event to help you obtain the technical skills needed to start contributing right away
• Receive on-the-job training and real-world experience working with clients; putting what you learned in the classroom to use
• Have the opportunity to work directly with staff —from Associates to Partners— and learn directly from them
• Prepare individual and business income tax returns
• Conduct tax research and convey information to your supervisor
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements to enable effective and informed decision-making
• Demonstrate your work ethic, knowledge, and interest in joining Hawkins Ash CPAs full-time
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Our ideal candidate will:

• Currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Have completed a corporate or individual taxation class
• Actively be achieving credits to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam
• Have excellent skills in communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Exhibit strong computer skills, especially proficient in Microsoft Office
