Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Tax Director to lead the company’s global income tax provision and US income tax compliance function. You will run the quarterly and annual ASC 740 close, manage the co‑sourced compliance program, and build processes, controls, and a team to scale with the company.

The role requires hands‑on experience with complex M&A and infrastructure transactions, including tax purchase price allocations, and delivering clear memos for auditors and leadership.

Qualifications

• Have hands‑on experience running the income tax provision and compliance processes
• Knowledge of ASC 740 close, deferred taxes and disclosures
• Experience with complex M&A transactions and infrastructure leases

Responsibilities

• Own the quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision and related computations
• Own the tax journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, and SOX controls
• Coordinate international components of the provision with team and advisors
• Manage US federal and state income tax compliance program with Big 4 providers
• Own cash tax forecasting and respond to tax authority notices and audits
• Drive automation and tax technology adoption across provision and compliance processes
• Own tax purchase price allocation workpapers for acquisitions
• Analyze data center and compute infrastructure arrangements and related financing structures
• Prepare and review technical memos for auditors and leadership
• Mentor and develop tax team members and manage external advisers
