Qualifications

• CPA, JD, or LL.M. in Taxation is required.
• 10+ years of experience in employee benefits taxation, executive compensation and deferred compensation planning.
• Deep expertise in Sections 409A, 83(b) and 457, including plan design and compliance.
• Experience leading a tax group in a public accounting firm or law firm.
• Strong ERISA knowledge and payroll/tax reporting understanding.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to technical, strategic, and operational aspects of the employee benefits tax practice.
• Advise clients on tax implications of executive compensation, equity incentives, severance, and complex compensation.
• Provide guidance on qualified and non-qualified retirement and welfare benefit plans.
• Deliver reviews of benefit plan documents, agreements, and tax filings.
• Mentor professionals and develop the team; participate in training on 409A/83(b)/457.
• Support business development and manage client relationships, including middle-market and private equity-backed firms.
