Job summary

Plante Moran, PLLC seeks a Tax Principal for the Tax Solutions Group focusing on Tax Credit Transferability. You will lead growth across all 50 states, drive market origination, and mentor a senior Transferability Team to scale the practice.

You will guide engagements through IRS processes, oversee transaction structuring, and foster cross‑firm collaboration to expand capabilities and client impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant tax, tax credit, or clean-energy transaction experience.
• Deep, demonstrated expertise in §6418 tax credit transferability.
• CPA preferred.
• Proven ability to build a book of business within the clean-energy space.
• Public accounting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Origination and growth of the firm’s tax credit transferability practice on both the buy-side and sell-side, nationally.
• Cultivate and expand a network across the clean-energy credit ecosystem — direct sellers, brokers, syndicators, and developers in the 45X / ITC / PTC markets.
• Build a book of business through proactive market development, proposals, conferences, and referrals.
• Lead, mentor, and grow the Transferability Team with a path to scale.
