Job summary

IRA Financial is seeking an Accounting/Tax Intern to support the finance team with Form 5500 tax reporting and compliance activities. This on-site internship offers hands-on experience working with clients, documenting processes, and assisting in the 5500 filing.

Location is Sioux Falls, SD, Monday-Friday, Fall/Winter 2026 through December 2026 and Winter/Spring 2027 through May 2027. This non-exempt/hourly, full-time role requires pursuing an Accounting/Finance degree and strong attention to

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Basic understanding of accounting principles.
Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and execution of Form 5500 filings and related compliance tasks.
Work directly with clients to gather required information and supporting documentation.
Research Form 5500 requirements, deadlines, and filing considerations as needed.
Organize, review, and verify data for accuracy and completeness before submission.
Support the team in tracking filing progress and maintaining compliance records.
Assist with data entry, document management, and administrative support related to tax and accounting functions.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and assist with internal audits.
Other tasks as assigned by management.
