You will manage tax payments, prepare filings, and ensure audit-ready documentation, while training staff and translating complex regulations into clear guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• CPA/CMA or other credential preferred.
• Experience leading teams in a high-volume, compliance-driven finance environment.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with Excel and financial analysis tools; familiarity with Workday.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain compliance for international, federal, multi-state, and locally imposed tax requirements across the university.
• Monitor and remit state, local, and federal taxes for all departments, document paperwork, review payments, and file with authorities.
• Assist with changes in tax law and interpret guidance; communicate changes to department managers.
• Interpret tax regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly; conduct training to ensure compliance.
• Supervise and train staff, set goals, and provide performance feedback and development opportunities.
• Assist in defense during tax audits with supporting documentation and coordination with counsel.
• Develop and implement internal control policies and participate in Workday-related upgrades and improvements.
