Duke University, a premier research institution, seeks an Associate Controller, Payroll & Tax Compliance, to lead tax, payroll, fringe benefits accounting, and international operations. You will report to the Finance senior leadership, oversee a ~25-person team, and ensure regulatory compliance and financial controls across Duke University and DUHS.

The role requires strategic leadership, extensive experience in tax and payroll operations, and collaboration with senior leaders to advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Ten years of progressively responsible experience, including significant management and leadership experience.
• MBA, Master of Accounting (MAcc), CPA, and/or CIA designation.
• SAP or other large-scale ERP system experience.

Responsabilités

• Tax compliance and regulatory oversight for Duke University and DUHS.
• Oversee payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely payments for over 52,000 employees.
• Oversee fringe benefits accounting, forecasting, and monthly reporting of expenditures.
• Provide leadership for international administrative operations and cross-functional policy development.
