The Borough is seeking a Part-Time Tax Clerk for the Finance Department to assist with the collection of municipal taxes and related revenues. The position is responsible for the accurate and timely collection and recording of property tax payments and other municipal revenues. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with New Jersey municipal tax laws and procedures, or a willingness to learn. The duties of the position include but are not limited to: Collection of tax and revenue payments, reconciliation of cash receipts, accurately handling cash transactions and making change, maintenance of records and files, posting items to accounts, and heavy contact with the public both in person and via telephone providing excellent customer service, and other duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent required. The hours for the position are flexible, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The hourly rate for this position is $18.29 per hour. The Borough of Pompton Lakes is an EOE.
