Florence County is seeking an Audit Clerk I to help taxpayers with tax information related to real and personal taxation and to update tax rolls. Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least one year of clerical or data entry experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma supplemented by one year of clerical or data entry experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist taxpayers in understanding tax information concerning real and personal taxation and tax laws.
• Make additions, deletions, or changes on tax rolls as needed.
• Perform data entry for abatements, estimates, and vehicle tax notices.
• Prepare tax notices from computerized reports and assist the public with inquiries.
• Obtain and verify information for real estate tax refunds and exemptions.
• Maintain status reports and update exemption information in relevant systems.
