About the Role

The Franklin County Area Tax Bureau is seeking a discreet, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual for a full-time Tax Clerk position at our Chambersburg office. In this role, you will work efficiently with numbers to verify the accuracy of local income tax returns and support our core tax administration operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify the accuracy of local income tax returns and financial data.
• Provide exceptional, professional customer service to taxpayers and municipal entities via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Utilize internal systems and software, including Microsoft Office applications, to process tax documents.
• Handle administrative tasks with discretion, maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive taxpayer information.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent certificate required at a minimum; an associate or bachelors degree is preferred.
• Strong numerical aptitude with the ability to work efficiently and accurately with numbers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus).

• Prior experience with local earned income taxes and Microsoft Office applications is a strong plus.
