Job summary

State of Nebraska is seeking an Audit Intern through the SOS Temporary Program. This 100% in-office position offers a temporary opportunity under the Department of Revenue, with anticipated length through 9/30/27.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two-to-four-year institution).
• Recent graduate (within one year) from an accredited college or university (two-to-four-year institution).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, SQL, or other programming experience and exposure to state tax programs (sales, withholding).
• Knowledge of accounting principles, business administration, and business communications.

Responsibilities

• Assists with audits in the field and in the office under supervision of DOR auditors and management.
• Assists in issuing Nebraska tax assessments based on audit results.
• Performs research and data analysis by searching through all applicable sources.
• Assists with other projects as assigned.
