Job summary

The State of Nebraska, through the SOS Temporary Program, is seeking an Audit Intern for the Department of Revenue. This in-office position offers hands-on learning, shadowing audit staff, and exposure to Nebraska tax programs on a temporary basis through 9/30/27.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergrad or graduate program (or recently graduated). Preference for accounting coursework, MS Office familiarity, and transcript submission.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
• Completed 12 hours of post-secondary accounting preferred.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, SQL, or other programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audits in the field and in the office under supervision.
• Assist in issuing Nebraska tax assessments based on audit results.
• Performs research and data analysis by searching through all applicable sources.
• Assist with other projects as assigned.
