Job summary

State of Nebraska is seeking an Audit Intern through the SOS Temporary Program. This in-house staffing program places interns into temporary assignments with the Department of Revenue to gain exposure to Nebraska tax programs and audit processes.

The position is 100% in-office, with assignments supervised by Audit staff. The temporary assignment runs through 9/30/2027, offering hands-on learning and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program or recently graduated within 1 year.
• Preferred: 12 hours of accounting; familiarity with MS Office, SQL, or programming exposure.
• Please attach a copy of transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audits in the field and in the office under supervision of DOR auditors/management.
• Assist in issuing Nebraska tax assessments based on audit results.
• Perform research and data analysis by searching through applicable sources.
• Assist with other projects as assigned.
