Job summary

CLA Salinas, CA location is seeking Tax/Audit Interns to gain hands-on experience in tax returns and audit engagements. You will support multiple client engagements, participate in training, and interact with clients and CLA teams to deliver quality work within deadlines.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in accounting or finance, aiming to sit for the CPA exam, and possess strong MS Office skills with a willingness to travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Working toward bachelor's degree; accounting or finance strongly preferred.
• Eligibility to sit for CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with MS Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns.
• Performs audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance services.
• Gains experience and knowledge of procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues.
• Expands industry knowledge through exposure to peers, clients, and training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members regularly.
