Confidential Employer in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Tax Associate to prepare federal income tax returns and support a variety of client engagements. You will work alongside experienced accounting professionals in a fully on-site team, handling forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and 1041.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on income tax return preparation experience.
• Experience preparing individual and/or business income tax returns.
• Familiarity with federal tax Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, or 1041.
• CPA preferred but not required; actively pursuing CPA licensure if not already certified.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively with a team.
• Previous public accounting or CPA firm experience is a plus.
• Ability to work full-time, on-site in Birmingham, AL.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal income tax returns, primarily Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and 1041.
• Work with individual, partnership, S corporation, trust, and estate tax filings.
• Review financial information, tax documents, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate tax preparation.
• Assist with tax compliance and research while expanding your knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
• Collaborate with experienced accountants to address tax questions and support client engagements.
• Organize tax workpapers and maintain accurate documentation throughout the preparation process.
• Contribute to delivering timely, reliable, and high-quality tax services to our clients.
