Job description

We're building the largest physician-focused tax company in the country, and we're growing faster than anyone else in this space. Tax Associates are the engine of our pods, and they are where our Tax Seniors and Tax Managers come from. We hire from within. This seat is demanding, and it is not for everyone. Read the whole post before you apply.

The reality: You prep returns in your pod, business and personal, for review. High-income physician households, complicated situations, real volume. The standard is exacting, because review only works if your prep is clean. During season the pace is relentless, and there is nowhere to hide a sloppy file. You have to be on top of every detail, every deadline, and every client, every day. This is a hard job and we are saying so on purpose. If that sounds like too much, this is the wrong post, and that is fine.

What you own: The returns in your pod, prepped accurately and on time. Your queue, your deadlines, your clients. The planning reps that build toward Senior and then Manager: S-corp optimization, depreciation and real estate strategy, multi-state nexus, practice ownership, learned by doing next to your Senior and Manager. And your own growth curve toward running a pod of your own.

Who this is for: A high executor who is relentlessly on top of their work. Detail-oriented, accurate, fast under volume, and organized enough to never drop a deadline or a client. Energized, not drained, by a large book of complicated clients. Hungry to learn planning and to move up, and willing to earn it through reps and execution rather than waiting on a title. It is not for anyone who needs to be chased, wants a comfortable lane, or expects to move up on time served instead of performance.

The path: This is where our Seniors and Managers come from, and the runway is real. The Associates who put in the reps and execute at a high level move up. It is earned, not given, and it takes both reps and execution to get there.

A note on selection: We are growing fast, but we screen hard. The process is thorough on purpose, and very few of the people who apply are selected. If you are the right person, that should make you want this more, not less.

Requirements:
  • CPA or EA, or in active progress with a firm timeline to finish.
  • Masters in accounting or tax preferred.
  • 0 to 2 years of tax preparation, ideally individual and business returns.
  • Accurate, organized, and fast under real volume. Be ready to show your work.
  • Hungry to learn planning and to grow into a Tax Senior and Manager.

Compensation: $50,000-$65,000 per year. This is a permanently remote role in the United States.
