Job description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Specialist or Certified Public Accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career by combining technical tax expertise, client service, and entrepreneurial leadership.

In this role, you will work directly with clients to prepare and review individual and business tax returns, lead client meetings and engagements, and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the tax planning and filing process. At the same time, you will play a key role in our company tax preparation and handling our in house tax processes.

You will have the opportunity to build something, take ownership, and help shape the direction of a growing company.

If you are a tax professional who wants more than simply preparing returns—someone who wants to work with a team, develop processes, and help clients have access to services all under one roof,we'd like to talk.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare, review, and file accurate individual, business, fiduciary, and other applicable tax returns.
  • Provide tax preparation and compliance services while identifying opportunities for tax planning and strategic advice.
  • Meet directly with clients to understand their financial and tax situations, answer questions, and provide clear recommendations.
  • Lead client engagements from initial consultation through preparation, review, filing, and follow-up.
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and serve as a trusted point of contact for their tax needs.
  • Communicate complex tax concepts in a clear, practical, and understandable manner.
  • Research tax issues and stay current on federal, state, and local tax laws and filing requirements.
  • Identify potential tax planning opportunities and coordinate with other professionals, including attorneys and financial advisors, when appropriate.
  • Ensure client returns and engagements are completed accurately, professionally, and within applicable deadlines.
What We're Looking For
  • CPA license preferred; significant tax preparation and public accounting experience will also be considered.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or a related tax-focused role.
  • Strong knowledge of individual and business taxation and applicable federal and state tax requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing tax returns.
  • Strong client-facing and relationship-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a straightforward way.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines during busy seasons.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential client information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, financial advisors, and other professionals.
What We Offer
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with company contributions
  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • A collaborative, people-first culture focused on growth and impact
  • The opportunity to build lasting client relationships and become a trusted advisor
  • Support from an established national team
About The Team

Our team is made up of attorneys, financial advisors, tax professionals, and client service professionals all over the country who believe that we all get one short life, and that we should make the most of it. We help our clients prioritize what matters through estate and financial planning, all under one roof.

We care about doing work that matters. We also care about how we do it. That means supporting each other, staying curious, and showing up for our clients with the kind of presence they deserve.

If you're someone who values collaboration over competition, effectiveness over busyness, and impact over appearances, you'll fit right in.

We believe in great freedom, great responsibility, and in doing the hard work first. We're committed to empowering our team to help thousands of people nationwide protect what matters to them.

Who Should Apply

This role is designed for a tax professional who wants to combine technical expertise, client relationships, and leadership.

You are someone who enjoys sitting across the table from a client, understanding their situation, preparing and explaining their return, and helping them make better decisions. You take pride in providing excellent service and building relationships that extend beyond a single tax filing.

You don't have to be a traditional entrepreneur—but you should have an entrepreneurial mindset. You should be comfortable taking initiative, solving problems, and turning an opportunity into a thriving practice.

If the opportunity to serve clients, collaborate with others, and broaden your tax knowledge excites you, we'd love to hear from you.
