Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Tax Accountant to maintain accurate tax reporting and support regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local levels. The role emphasizes process improvement, data organization, and timely filings to support the company's fiscal health.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Accounting with 1+ years of tax experience; CPA progress is preferred. Proficiency in Excel and GL systems is expected, with opportunities for bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
1+ years of relevant tax experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working with accounting and general ledger systems.
CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare state and local income tax filings for corporate and partnership entities.
Prepare federal corporate and partnership income tax returns and related filings.
Compute and file quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions.
Organize data from the general ledger and tax depreciation software for apportionment calculations.
Maintain organized tax records to ensure compliance and accessibility.
Research state and local tax matters to support accurate filings.
Respond to federal, state, and local tax notices and inquiries.
