Job summary

Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa in Bedford, Alabama, is seeking a Server who embodies warmth and attentiveness to deliver seamless, personalized service at a fast-paced, upscale setting.

You will greet guests, describe menu items, upsell beverages, maintain station setup and cleanliness, and coordinate with the culinary team to meet dietary needs and special requests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of serving experience in high-volume or upscale hotel restaurants.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits and beer.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Professional appearance and strong guest service orientation.
• Unexpired Food Handlers certification required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests, anticipate needs, and respond to requests.
• Provide friendly, professional service and follow steps of service.
• Maintain menu familiarity and knowledge of beverage offerings.
• Set up and break down station; perform side-work.
• Handle ordering via MICROS and relay requests to kitchen.
• Upsell menu items and suggest wine pairings.
• Assist with phone coverage and guest seating as needed.
• Coordinate with culinary team on dietary needs and special requests.
• Report guest concerns to the Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge and greet all guests, anticipate guest needs, and respond to guest inquiries or requests.
• Provide outstanding service to members and guests in a friendly and professional manner, following proper steps of service.
• Must maintain full familiarity with menus and knowledge of beverage offerings, including wine service.
• Complete station set-up and breakdown/side-work.
• Polish and clean all water glassware on assigned station during each shift.
• Take food and beverage orders and upsell as often as possible.
• Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests using surnames when obtained.
• Send orders using MICROS systems.
• Communicate with the culinary team regarding meal requirements, allegories, dietary needs, and special requests.
• Alert Restaurant Manager immediately if a guest has a suggestion, complaint or issue.
• Present accurate check to guests and process payment.
• Assist in seating guests and answering phones for the restaurant as needed.
• Crosstrain among other food and beverage outlets as needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the restaurant manager.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 1 year of serving experience, preferably in high volume and casual environment or part of an upscale hotel restaurant outlet.
• Must adhere and agree to compensation acknowledgement and tip reporting guidelines.
• Must have knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers obtained upon hire.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, place, and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs
