Job summary

Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa is seeking an entry-level Food Runner to support servers and management in delivering prompt, friendly service across dining rooms and bars. You will learn the floor plan, menu details, and service times while contributing to a clean, organized workspace in a historic resort environment.

You will be expected to stand and move for long periods, handle carrying tasks up to 50 pounds, and maintain impeccable personal appearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year food runner or busser experience.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Must communicate effectively.
• Maintain professional appearance and attitude.
• Must have ServSafe or equivalent training.
• Stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Assist servers and management to ensure prompt, courteous service.

Overview

This position is responsible for assisting servers and management in any way possible to ensure prompt, and courteous service to all guests.

Responsibilities

• Must have complete knowledge of service times and menu.
• Must have complete knowledge of floor plan, table numbers, and seat numbers.
• Supports new Omni Safe and Clean protocols throughout the outlet.
• Deliver food to correct tables according to ticket, floor plan, and seat numbers.
• Always inquire if additional service is needed from guests upon delivery and inform server or manager.
• Responsible for set-up of assigned stations with specified items.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Must consult with supervisor on any food delivery difficulty.
• Must always minimize breakage.
• Assist with Bar Back duties as needed; removal of dishware, and stocking the bar stations to par.
• Maintenance and replenishment of dining room items. Ensure items are always full, clean and presentable.
• Securing all dining room items such as platters, butter dishes, bread knives as directed by manager or posted side work.
• Ensuring all products are within date and using the FIFO method of storage.
• Attend all department meetings and other required company trainings.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year food runner experience or Busser experience
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must consistently demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be teamwork-oriented, and exhibit a positive attitude.
• Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
• Must have and maintain current, ServSafe or equivalent training.
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire shift.
• Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Working Environment:
• Interior of restaurant kitchen and designated bar area, with occasional travel around the property as needed.
• Exposure to a kitchen environment with high temperatures.
• Exterior of Hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
• Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to food items and beverages.
• Tools & Equipment:
• Open Table, Kronos, Telephone, Wine Key, Knife.
