Job summary

Ponte Vedra Inn & Club seeks an energetic Tavern Manager to lead daily Tavern operations and support other beverage outlets. You will recruit, train, and coach staff while upholding service excellence and high standards of cleanliness and safety.

You will manage beverage inventory, costs, and profitability, drive guest satisfaction, and collaborate with members and vendors. Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in a Head Bartender, Bar Manager, Beverage Supervisor, or similar leadership role in a full-service restaurant, luxury resort, hotel, country club, or private club environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Tavern and support additional beverage outlets as business needs require.
• Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and develop bartenders, servers, and support staff.
• Conduct daily lineups and ongoing training focused on service excellence, product knowledge, and operational standards.
• Provide visible leadership to ensure exceptional member and guest experiences.
• Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout all beverage operations.
• Manage beverage inventory, purchasing, receiving, storage, and product controls.
• Conduct monthly inventories and analyze reporting to manage beverage costs and profitability.
• Monitor labor expenses and staffing levels to achieve budget objectives while maintaining service standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with members, guests, vendors, and team members.
• Support beverage programming, seasonal promotions, specialty offerings, and special events.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, health regulations, and responsible alcohol service standards.

The Opportunity

Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is seeking an energetic, hospitality-driven leader to join our Food & Beverage team as Tavern Manager, reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage. This position is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Tavern while supporting additional beverage outlets, cocktail receptions, hospitality events, and beverage-related functions as needed. The Tavern Manager plays a key role in delivering exceptional member and guest experiences, maintaining the highest service standards, developing a high-performing team, and driving beverage sales, profitability, and operational excellence.

What Sets You Apart

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Head Bartender, Bar Manager, Beverage Supervisor, or similar leadership role in a full-service restaurant, luxury resort, hotel, country club, or private club environment.
• Fine dining and banquet experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, team development, and employee engagement skills.
• Working knowledge of beverage inventory management, purchasing, cost controls, labor management, and financial reporting.
• Experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
