Job summary

Pirtle Winery in Weston, MO is seeking a Tasting Room Manager to lead daily operations, deliver exceptional guest experiences, grow the wine club, and uphold hospitality standards. The role also supports restaurant operations at the sister property.

You will hire and train staff, manage POS systems (Toast, Square, Vinoshipper, Homebase), monitor inventory, and collaborate with marketing and events to boost visitation and sales.

Qualifications

• Prefer minimum 2-3 years of hospitality, retail, wine, or tasting room management experience.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Proven ability to meet sales goals and drive revenue growth.
• Knowledge of wine and wine production preferred.
• Experience with POS systems and inventory management.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate wine restocking and merchandising.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise tasting room staff.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and ongoing coaching.
• Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Ensure staff adherence to company policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Collaborate with restaurant team for staffing, menu planning, and ordering.
• Oversee daily opening and closing procedures.
• Manage point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and daily sales reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all alcohol service regulations and winery policies.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the tasting room and outdoor guest areas.
• Complete weekly ordering for tasting room and restaurant.
• Assist with planning and execution of winery events, private tastings, and special promotions.
• Collaborate with marketing efforts to increase visitation and customer engagement.
• Represent the winery professionally within the community and at industry events when needed.

Position Summary

Join our Pirtle Winery team! Our family owned and operated business has been creating and selling wine for almost 50 yrs.This role serves as the face of the winery and plays a key role in building customer relationships, wine club membership growth, and brand loyalty. The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the winery tasting room, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, driving wine sales, managing staff, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. In addition, assist with aspects of our restaurant operations at our sister property.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality
