Job summary

GE Appliances in the United States, Louisville, KY, is seeking a Senior Trade Analyst to lead tariff classification and Free Trade Agreement qualifications for imported and exported home appliances and parts. You’ll work with external service providers to maintain classification SOPs, documentation, and NPI processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role requires five+ years of HTSUS experience, USMCA knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; five+ years HTSUS classification experience.
• FTA qualification experience; USMCA preferred; BOM-level regional value content and tariff shift analysis.
• ACE, CBP rulings research, and entry documentation knowledge.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specs.
• Ability to collaborate with external service providers and cross-functional internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Tariff Classification: determine, review, and document HTSUS, Schedule B, and ECCN classifications; maintain records and apply GRI rules and CBP rulings; review work by providers.
• Free Trade Agreements: qualify products under USMCA and other agreements; manage supplier certifications and origin analysis; issue certificates and support duty savings analysis.
• Governance and Collaboration: align processes with providers; support post-entry activities; train stakeholders; assist internal audits and testing.
