Job summary
Fehrer Automotive North America is seeking a Customs and Tariff Specialist to ensure full compliance with import/export regulations, manage HTS classifications, and optimize landed costs. You will work with supply chain, logistics, and government agencies to keep operations compliant and efficient.
The role includes monitoring tariff changes, supporting audits, and providing data-driven insights to procurement and finance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
- Experience in customs compliance or international trade is required.
- Automotive/manufacturing experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and CBP requirements.
- Maintain HTS classifications for imported materials and products.
- Review and manage customs documentation such as invoices and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with brokers and forwarders for timely clearance.
- Develop and maintain trade compliance procedures and records.
- Monitor tariff changes and perform landed cost analyses.
- Prepare reports on duty spend and compliance KPIs.
- Support ERP/SAP data accuracy related to trade compliance.
