Job summary

Target is hiring for an Assets Protection role at our Wilmington, MA store. The starting hourly rate is $20.25 USD with a pay range of $20.25–$30.40 USD per hour.

The AP team protects guests, team members, and the brand by mitigating theft, managing crises, and building relationships with store leaders and public safety officials. Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Enjoy interacting with guests and teammates.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment that requires teamwork, flexibility, and problem solving.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal, and ability to use technology equipment.
• Able to climb ladders and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
• Accept scheduled shifts and take required breaks.

Responsibilities

• Use intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
• Respond to crises, manage safety and crowds, and support guests and team members.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and maintain a safety culture.
• Operate Target’s video surveillance system and document incidents accurately in the case management system.
• Deliver a friendly guest experience: greet, assist, and thank guests warmly.
• Assist peers, adapt to business needs, and support team efforts with a positive attitude.
• Maintain safe standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly.
• Leverage de-escalation tactics during store incidents.
• Recover merchandise and support theft apprehension as needed, following AP policies.
• Prevent theft and shortage by checking receipts and identifying trends.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; Work safely at all times.
• Perform other duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.

• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices, operate handheld scanners, and use other technology equipment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, prioritizing tasks effectively.

• Capability to climb ladders and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds.
