Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is seeking a Tapping Deflection Operator for the Savanna, IL facility. The role involves operating assigned mechanical equipment, ensuring product quality, and recording production data. You will train on the 1st shift for up to six months before moving to the regular 2nd-shift schedule.

The position is full-time and on-site, with a 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM (training 6:30 AM–3:00 PM). Pay ranges from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour, plus a $2 shift differential.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Solid experience with the setup and operation of machinery, including application to complex tasks.
  • Machine-operation and precision-measurement skills.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints when applicable.
  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to complete documentation accurately.

  • Verify that produced items meet quality-control requirements and product specifications.
  • Use basic measuring instruments to check product dimensions and quality.
  • Perform first-piece inspections as needed.
  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and make necessary adjustments.
  • Read and interpret work instructions and blueprints when applicable.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation fully and accurately.
  • Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, pushing and pulling objects up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending and stooping. The position also requires the dexterity to handle small objects and the ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment.
