Job summary

Fairwater in the United States is seeking a Technical Manager - Tankers to lead technical oversight across a fleet of vessels. Based in Dania Beach, FL, you will supervise Technical Superintendents and coordinate with the Director to ensure safe, compliant operations and on-time drydock activities.

You will apply strong leadership, fleet-management expertise, and effective communication to balance budgets, review performance data, and drive continuous improvement while supporting shipyard

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in marine engineering, fleet technical operations, or vessel management.
• English language proficiency.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with computers and fleet management tools.
• Ability to travel as necessary, including short notice.
• Organized, decisive, and results-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve various QSMS instructions and procedures.
• Oversee shipyard repair oversight, including budget monitoring and invoice settlements.
• Handle technical aspects of assigned vessels and review performance data.
• Monitor operating budgets and safety meeting minutes.
• Plan long-term shipyard work and maintenance scheduling.
• Ensure vendors meet technical and quality requirements.
• Communicate with vessel operators/charterers about operational activity.
• Collaborate with HSSEQ staff on safety, quality, and environmental goals.
