Job summary

Schneider National, Inc. seeks a Tanker Truck Technician in Gary, IN for a full-time role with a 3:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m. schedule Wednesday–Friday and every other weekend.

You will perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on bulk trailers and tractors in the Gary shop, communicating progress to internal customers. The job requires a diesel tech-related degree or 1+ year tanker experience, basic welding, and diagnostic software familiarity.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology or related field, or a minimum of one year of tanker technician experience.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
• Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance on bulk trucks and trailers in the truck and express areas of the shop.
• Complete routine repair and replacements on all trailer components, including tires, brakes, ABS systems and electrical systems.
• Communicate status updates to internal customers.
