Job summary

Schneider National is hiring an Entry Level Diesel Technician in Gary, IN. You will perform routine maintenance on trucks and trailers, handle component replacements and troubleshoot issues as part of a growing shop team.

You will use maintenance software to track work orders, communicate with internal customers, and assist with shop duties including stocking and inventory control. Prior industry exposure and basic IT skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Industry experience preferred.
• Experience using computer systems and maintenance software.
• Must be able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance including tire changes, minor electrical repairs and greasing.
• Use maintenance software to create and track work orders.
• Communicate status updates to internal customers.
• Assist with general shop duties: stocking, inventory management and tracking repairs.
