Job summary

Schneider National, Inc. is hiring an Entry Level Diesel Technician in Gary, IN for the 1st shift (7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.), working Wednesday to Friday and every other weekend.

You will start your shop career by performing routine maintenance on trucks and trailers, completing component replacements and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include routine repairs, use of maintenance software to track work orders, communicating progress to internal customers, and supporting shop duties like stocking

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Relevant industry experience preferred.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance to include tire changes, minor electrical repairs and greasing.
• Use maintenance software to create and track work orders.
• Communicate status updates to internal customers.
• Assist with general shop duties, including stocking, managing inventory and tracking repairs.
