Job summary

Southwest Economic Solutions in Geismar, LA seeks a tanker trailer technician to perform visual inspections and tests on DOT tankers and HM-certified tanks. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and braking systems, including MIG/TIG welding as needed.

Apprentice program participation is available; schedule is Monday–Friday with 40-hour baseline and overtime as required. Must be 18+, able to pass background/drug screening, and have your own tools.

Qualifications

• Tank testing on DOT tankers and HM-certified tanks.
• Experience with tank valve repair or replacement, tanker air systems, and trailer brakes.
• Knowledge of ABS systems and air brake repairs.
• Able to pass background check and drug screen.
• Must provide own tools adequate to perform job functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform external and internal visual inspections and tests on DOT-specified tankers.
• Conduct pressure and leak tests for tankers and hazardous material certified tanks.
• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, or trailer systems.
• Weld with MIG/TIG on aluminum, stainless, or carbon sections.
